Galaxy S27 Leak: 8GB RAM Option, January Launch
New Galaxy S27 leaks this week cover the launch window, memory options and a new modem. Everything below is unconfirmed and comes from tipsters, as summarised in iDevice's weekly rumor tracker. Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27 series.
Galaxy S27 launch date: January 2027?
According to iDevice, tipster Lanzuk says the Galaxy S27 series is on track for January, earlier than recent launches, with February at the latest. Lanzuk also says most parts for the S27 and S27+ are settled. PhoneArena's earlier coverage similarly expects an Unpacked event in January or February 2027. India launch timing would normally follow shortly after the global debut, but nothing is confirmed.
Galaxy S27 RAM and storage leaks
| Model | Leak | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S27 and S27+ | 8GB and 12GB RAM options | kro |
| Galaxy S27 Pro 1TB | 16GB RAM | WalleGalaxy |
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | 16GB RAM (earlier leaks) | earlier reports |
Tipster kro says Samsung plans 8GB versions beside the 12GB ones as a way to hold starting prices down while memory chips get more expensive, as reported through SamMobile. kro also says storage speeds will differ across the lineup, with mixed UFS versions. WalleGalaxy now claims the 1TB S27 Pro gets 16GB, while earlier leaks capped the Pro at 12GB.
New modem for Exynos 2700 models
The Elec reports a new M2700 5G modem for Exynos 2700 versions of the S27 and S27+. It is said to be faster than the Galaxy S26's modem and to use less power, which matters because Exynos modems have trailed MediaTek and Snapdragon rivals in efficiency. The Elec previously said Exynos 2700 production covers the S27, S27+ and Pro in Korea and Europe. Which chip reaches India has not been reported, so that is worth watching.
A four-model lineup and rising prices
The Korea Herald reports the lineup may grow to four phones with the new S27 Pro, and that Samsung Display is expected to make about 700,000 privacy-display panels for it in November. It cites a PhoneArena report, based on tipster Schroedinger, that US starting prices could be $999 for the S27, $1,199 for the S27+, $1,399 for the Pro and $1,499 for the Ultra. These are speculation. The Herald also notes Samsung has already raised Galaxy S26 prices because of memory costs, and further increases are anticipated. No ₹ pricing has leaked.
Should you wait for the Galaxy S27?
If you want a Samsung flagship now, the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the older Galaxy S25 Ultra are on sale this festive season. Amazon listed the S25 Ultra at ₹94,999 per India Today; see our Amazon Diwali deals article. If you can wait two to three months, the S27 may bring a redesign and newer chips, but expect higher prices. Our earlier Galaxy S27 Pro leak guide has the screen and camera rumours.
What to watch next
- Official Unpacked invitation dates, likely in December or January if rumours hold
- India pricing leaks and RAM-variant decisions
- Confirmation of Exynos 2700 versus Snapdragon chips by region
Why the memory story matters
Memory chips are getting more expensive, and the leaks suggest Samsung is trying to protect its starting prices by offering a lower 8GB tier on the standard and Plus models. For buyers, that could mean a cheaper entry model, but also a phone that ages sooner as on-device AI features demand more RAM. If you plan to keep your phone for four or five years, the 12GB versions are the safer choice whenever they are offered.
Samsung also said on its earnings call that each Galaxy S27 model will be tailored to a different buyer, per iDevice, which fits the idea of a more differentiated lineup with a Pro model slotted between the Plus and the Ultra.
