Cooling and gaming hardware
The phone gets the AquaCore Cooling System 3.0, a dual-loop liquid design with RGB lighting and a micro-pump that RedMagic says delivers up to 130kPa of pressure, an 85% improvement over the previous pump. A built-in fan spins up to 25,500 RPM, and the vapour chamber has 15% more coverage with Liquid Metal 4.0. You also get shoulder triggers with a 520Hz response rate, an X-axis linear motor and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.
Global version compromises
The global model differs from the China RedMagic 12 Pro+. Wired charging is 80W instead of 120W, and the shoulder trigger response is 520Hz instead of 700Hz. If you were hoping for the faster Chinese specs, the global edition is a small step down.
RedMagic 12 Pro vs RedMagic 11 Pro
The new phone raises refresh rate from 144Hz to 185Hz and peak brightness from 2,000 to 5,000 nits. Battery goes from 7,500mAh to 8,400mAh, and the body gets thinner, from 8.9mm to 8.5mm. Charging stays at 80W, and the RAM options drop the 24GB tier. The chip moves from Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 to the Extreme Gen 6.
Will the RedMagic 12 Pro launch in India?
There is no word from RedMagic about India. Gaming phones from the brand often reach India later, if at all. If you want an Indian-market alternative with a flagship chip, Motorola has already confirmed that its Signature 27 comes with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6; read Motorola Signature 27 launch date in India. Should you buy the RedMagic 12 Pro?
If you are an enthusiast who wants active cooling, shoulder triggers and a full-screen display with no punch-hole, the 12 Pro is built for you. For everyone else, a mainstream flagship will give better cameras and easier after-sales support in India. Since the phone is not officially sold here, warranty and service are a real risk with grey imports. Also check our list of highest AnTuTu score phones for performance comparisons.
