HyperOS 4 Android 17 Update Rolling Out: Phone List

By Phone Spec Hub · · 3 min read

The HyperOS 4 update based on Android 17 started rolling out on 3 November 2026 for a long list of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco phones. 9to5Google reported Xiaomi's schedule, which was shared in a post on X. If you own a recent Xiaomi phone, here is what is arriving, which models go first and what changes to expect.

HyperOS 4 rollout: who gets it first

According to 9to5Google, Xiaomi said the final version is ready after a beta that began in August. The first wave began on 3 November and covers:

  • Xiaomi 17 and 17T series
  • Xiaomi 15
  • Xiaomi Pad 8 series
  • Poco F8 series
  • Poco X8 series
  • Poco M8 series
  • Poco C85 and Poco C95 Pro
  • Redmi Note 17 series

A second group of devices follows from mid-November 2026. That list includes the Xiaomi 15T series, Xiaomi Pad 7 series, Xiaomi Pad Mini, Redmi Pad 2 series, Poco Pad X1 and Poco Pad M1, among others. 9to5Google says Xiaomi is updating phones as old as the 2022 Xiaomi 13T. We only list the models the report named, so check Xiaomi's own post for the complete list for your device.

What is new in HyperOS 4

9to5Google says the update brings a Liquid Glass-inspired redesign of the interface, more lockscreen customisation including large clocks, new home screen organisation tools and better support for floating apps and app orientations.

Xiaomi also claims apps launch nearly 20% faster after about a day of use. That comes from a background AI system that learns how you use the phone. The report compares it to Google's old Adaptive Battery feature. As with any speed claim, real-world results will vary by phone.

How to check for the update

Rollouts come in waves to catch bugs, so you may not see the update on day one. Go to Settings, then About phone, then tap the version number to check for updates. Back up your data first, keep at least 50% battery and use Wi-Fi.

What it means for Indian buyers

Android 17 on Xiaomi phones adds one more reason to consider recent models. If you are comparing, see the Xiaomi 14 page, the Poco F7 page and the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ page, though older models may be on the later wave. The update also matters for the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro, which Xiaomi has confirmed for India; read our Xiaomi 18 Pro India launch article for its status.

Why Android 17 updates matter

An operating system update is more than new icons. Each major Android version usually brings security improvements and fixes that keep an older phone safe for longer, and it can also change how long the battery lasts and how smoothly apps open. For buyers in India, where many people keep a phone for three to four years, a brand that rolls out major updates widely is a point in its favour when you compare Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco against rivals. Remember that a staged rollout means two people with the same phone can get the update days apart, so there is no need to worry if your friend has it first.

Should you update right away?

If your phone is in the first wave, updating is fine once it appears, but waiting a few days lets early bugs surface. Avoid updating just before a trip or an important exam. Phones from other brands are getting Android 17 too; see Nothing OS 5 rollout for another example.
