Motorola Signature 27 Display Hits 12,000 Nits: Specs
The Motorola Signature 27 display is the headline of Motorola's pre-launch push: a 6.8-inch Tandem OLED that the company claims reaches 12,000 nits. According to Android Authority, Motorola has now officially confirmed a long list of Signature 27 specs ahead of its 5 November launch, working with YouTuber Danny Winget on a hands-on preview. Here is what is confirmed, what is still hidden and what Indian buyers should expect.
Motorola Signature 27 display: what is a Tandem OLED?
A Tandem OLED stacks two layers of organic LEDs on top of each other, which allows much higher brightness and better power efficiency than a single layer. Android Authority notes that similar panels are used on the latest iPad Pro. Motorola calls the screen "Extreme AMOLED Duo", and the video confirms a 120Hz refresh rate.
For comparison, Android Authority lists the Galaxy S26 Ultra at up to 2,600 nits and the Pixel 11 Pro XL at up to 3,600 nits of peak per-pixel brightness. Peak claims are measured differently by each brand, so treat the 12,000-nit figure as a manufacturer number until independent reviews test it. Still, on paper it is far ahead of anything on sale in India today, including the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

What is still unknown
Motorola has not shared the battery capacity, charging speed or storage variants. Pricing is also under wraps until 5 November. Android Authority says recent leaks suggest the 512GB variant could cost as high as $1,800 abroad, which is an unconfirmed rumour. Some earlier reports pointed to a 165Hz display, but the official preview confirms 120Hz, so take older leaks with caution.
For India, Motorola has listed the phone on its website as coming in November. Read our earlier piece on the Signature 27 launch date in India for the timeline. The first-generation Motorola Signature started at ₹59,999 according to 91mobiles, so a higher starting price is likely, but no India price is official.
