iPhone 17 Price in India: Flipkart Diwali ₹84,999 Deal
The iPhone 17 price in India is the number everyone is Googling this Diwali week, and the headline is ₹79,999 on Flipkart. That figure is real, but it is a best case, not the sticker price. Here is what each price actually requires, so you do not plan your budget around a number you may never reach.
iPhone 17 price on Flipkart: what each number means
Flipkart's Big Bang Diwali Sale began on 28 October. According to Mashable India, the iPhone 17 is advertised from ₹79,999 against Apple's retail price of ₹99,900. That ₹20,000 saving is not a flat price cut. It is made of three parts: ₹8,000 off the listed price, a further ₹7,000 through an SBI credit card offer, and up to ₹5,000 as an exchange bonus for an eligible old phone.
Tech Trend Bytes checked the live Flipkart page on 31 October and saw a different picture. The 256GB iPhone 17 was listed at ₹91,999, which comes down to ₹84,999 with the bank offer. Gadgets 360 Hindi also reported the 256GB model at ₹91,999 with ₹84,999 after the SBI discount.
| What you use | Price | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Apple India store | ₹99,900 | Nothing |
| Flipkart listing | ₹91,999 | Nothing (plus a ₹299 fee, per Tech Trend Bytes) |
| Flipkart with SBI offer | ₹84,999 | Eligible SBI card |
| Flipkart advertised price | ₹79,999 | SBI card plus an exchange |
Is ₹79,999 really a Diwali bargain?
Here is the catch. Tech Trend Bytes, citing Business Today, notes that the iPhone 17 cost ₹82,900 before September, before Apple moved the starting price to ₹99,900. Measured against that older price, ₹79,999 is only about ₹2,900 lower, and ₹84,999 is actually about ₹2,100 higher.
The same site also points out that Flipkart quoted ₹79,999 during its September Big Billion Days sale too, so this Diwali sale does not clearly beat the last one. In short, the discount looks big mainly because the starting price went up.
The exchange bonus: read the fine print
Flipkart advertises a very high maximum exchange value, but that is a ceiling. What you get depends on your old phone's model and condition. The ₹5,000 bonus is also only worth something if it beats what you could earn by selling the old phone yourself. If a private sale would fetch the same money, your real price is ₹84,999, not ₹79,999.
Tech Trend Bytes also noticed the exchange offer showed as unavailable until a delivery pincode was entered, so add your pincode early on the product page. Bank offers can change by day, so trust the final checkout screen, not the banner.
The older iPhone option: iPhone 15 at ₹59,999
If your budget is tighter, Mashable India reports the iPhone 15 at ₹59,999 on Flipkart, down from a listed ₹69,999. The ₹10,000 saving again comes from two offers: ₹5,000 off on an eligible SBI credit card and an exchange bonus of up to ₹5,000. Final price depends on your card and your old handset.
Over on Amazon, reports say the iPhone 16 is cheaper still. India Today lists it at ₹76,999 against ₹89,900, with a bank offer that can push it under ₹70,000. We cover those Amazon prices in our Amazon Diwali sale guide.

Should you buy the iPhone 17 now or wait?
Buy at ₹84,999 if your current phone is struggling and you hold an eligible SBI card. It is a fair price for 256GB. Take ₹79,999 only if the exchange value truly beats a private sale. Skip the ₹91,999 listing with no card offer, because that is above the earlier pre-September price.
If your phone still works well, waiting is reasonable. Our guide on whether to buy this Diwali or wait for December launches explains what is coming. Wanting a premium model? The iPhone 17 Pro is listed at ₹1,34,900, and Cashify reports an SBI offer brings it to ₹1,27,900 on Flipkart, with a ₹299 Protect Promise fee extra.
